Festival für elektronische Künste

28.05.2016

Festival

GENERATE!° addresses contemporary tendencies of art that are based on the use of electronic media as well as on the application of digital technologies. GENERATE!° is especially interested in the interrelations between art, research, and technology prior to its socio-political background. A special focus is put on works that are dedicated to generative processes of production and to algorithmically controlled outputs. This also includes their underlying concepts.

GENERATE!° lab is presented as a one-day international performance festival that also includes an independent (self-contained?) workshop program. This reduces the time until the next GENERATE!° festival in a productive way. As a smaller, experimental spin-off of the three-day GENERATE!° festival, GENERATE!° lab sets aside an extensive exhibition. It focuses on the inalienable processes of formation and perception. Consequently, it concentrates on the volatile aspects of art which are put in the center of the aesthetic experience.
