Call for Entries
Entry deadline was Saturday night, April 30th 2016
GENERATE!° lab as a one-day mini festival takes place on Saturday, May 28th 2016. It mainly consists of two independent parts: a performance and a workshop program. For this purpose, we call for entries!
There is only limited space available for installations or site-specific works (for example in the lobby or on the outside walls).
Furthermore, we are looking forward to works and interventions in public space as well as experimental music.
Called for are submissions from all areas of art and technology, that correspond with the outlined fields and topic.
Submissions take place via the online form.
Entry deadline was Saturday night, April 30th 2016.
Possible thematic suggestions might be:
• Interrelations of technology, science, and art
• Involvement with social contexts
• Contributions in the area of artistic research
• Questions about the significance of art and aesthetics in the sciences and humanities, also vice versa
• Discussion of digital technologies, as a topic as well as mediator of art
• Discussion of significance of digital technologies and scientific research for life and everyday situations. This also concerns changes, expansions, or shifts of communication and perception
• Works that use media and technologies in an unorthodox, original, and alienated way
• Also submitted can be suggestions for workshops, lectures, experimental music, and also works that are created on-site, for example in the course of a workshop.
• Participative entries that include the visitors
In order to facilitate the festival’s documentation (online and print) and also its promotion, we are very happy to receive further information material (text, audio, visual, video…)
We happily accept specific wishes regarding documentation and publication.
Terms and Conditions
• The submission is possible via our online form, stating the usual information (description, concept, sketch, photos, drawings, short bio etc.)
• If you cannot avoid to make your submission via post, please make a comment in the online form. If you wish a return delivery, please attach an addressed and prepaid envelope
• There will be a limited budget for travel and accommodation expenses and costs for material (individual arrangements). Please furnish the particulars in the form
• Works and equipment may be insured for the duration of the festival/the exhibition. We need a detailed list of the objects to be insured. Please send all necessary information to ed.ellahdehs@lavitsef until Wednesday, May 18th 2016.
• Accommodation will be provided during the installation and the festival, specifications in the submission form
• Technical equipment should be brought individually. We have the basic infrastructure and we make an effort to provide with missing equipment. Requests via mail to ed.ellahdehs@lavitsef
• Since we do not have large storage facilities and we will be hosting other events, please dismantle and collect the works shortly after the festival. Individual arrangements can be made
• Works sent back to you should be delivered/sent with appropriate packing material
• The submission serves as consent that the selected works, accompanying material, and consequential documentation may be used for publications by GENERATE!°
• If you want to offer your work for sale, please indicate in the submission form. In case of sale in context with GENERATE!, we reserve a provision of 20% of the gross selling price
• We do not charge neither application nor participation fees
The event locations FabLab and Schlachthaus as well as the outdoor area may be visited upon previous arrangements.
Timeline
Festival day: Saturday, May 28th 2016 (10am to 5 am)
Preparatory workshops can begin up to one week prior to the festival.
The installation and preparation should happen at the same day.
More extensive preparations can be made upon previous arrangements.
Entry deadline was Saturday night, April 30th 2016
After the jury meeting, the participants will be notified and announced until Monday, May 2nd 2016.
The festival organization team as well as an external jury of experts are in charge of the festival program. The jury will be announced on our website after its session.
