S1 - Mapping System Workshop
mapping, animation, stop motion
Jakob Stolz is studying architecture at Bauhaus University Weimar. Since he started his studies, he has been concentrating on the entanglement of space and media.
StepSynth
Claude Winterberg from Basel
Heart of the StepSynth are two oscillators on base of a 4093-NAND-Schmitt trigger. Both are connectable in different variations. One oscillator can be run by a LDR (resistance, sensitive to light). With every of the 8 steps, tune and on/off can be adjusted separately. With a speed regulator it is possible to adjust the speed of the step sequencers.
HP-LP Filter
Claude Winterberg from Basel
9V-Filter with alterable cutoff-frequency and great resonance. Filter frequency is adjustable between high pass and low pass. It can be modulated with control voltage via two external entrances.

Creative Coding in Processing
Programming, visual computer art
For beginners and advanced
Elise Ross from Tübingen
Carmine Spizuoco from Neaples (leads the advanced course, if requested)
Elise Ross wants to transfer the idea of coding to a low-technical context, to address a wider spectrum of people. Hereby she focuses on visual art and creative coding.
Processing is an open-source, free computer language which was designed to create visual output. Plus, it is a perfect language to learn how to program. This workshop introduces the basic concepts of coding, to afterwards focus on the creative possibilities of processing. After this workshop, participants will be able to create their own small sketches. They will also understand, how to modify other code examples. No previous knowledge in programming is required. Participants should bring their own laptop, including the software 'processing'. You can download it for free, on the following website. (https://processing.org/download/)
